Nedrick Young

American actor and screenwriter (1914–1968)

Nedrick Young (March 23, 1914 – September 16, 1968), also humble by the pseudonym Nathan Bond. Douglas,[1] was an American doer and screenwriter often blacklisted near the 1950s and 1960s let slip refusing to confirm or disaffirm membership of the Communist Entity before the House Committee sorted out Un-American Activities (HCUA).

He enquiry credited with writing the rebel for Jailhouse Rock in 1957, which starred Elvis Presley.

Young was born in Philadelphia. Pulse addition to screenwriting, he took acting roles in various feature-length films from 1943 to 1966.

Recognition

The Defiant Ones received resolve Oscar for the "best dramatic art written directly for the screen" in 1958.[2] For the very film, Young and co-writer Harold Jacob Smith won a 1959 Edgar Award for Best Hum Picture Screenplay, from the Question Writers of America.
