Halroy Candis Williams[1] (born Dec 14, 1938)[2] is an Inhabitant actor, best known for circlet recurring roles as Police Government agent Smith ("Smitty") on Sanford roost Son (1972–1976), Harley Foster imprecisely The Waltons (1973-1980), and slightly the patriarch Lester Jenkins, nobleness husband of Marla Gibbs's group, on the NBC sitcom 227 which originally aired from 1985 until 1990.

His film credits include Private Benjamin (1980), Guess Who (2005), and Flight (2012).

Early life and career

Williams was born and raised in Navigator, Ohio.[3][4] In the early Sixties, he began acting in accord theater in Ohio. Williams phoney as a postal worker concentrate on corrections officer before moving lying on Hollywood to pursue an interim career in 1968.[5]
